TEAM CHINA: PRAYING, GIVING, GOING

TEAM CHINA: PRAYING, GIVING, GOING

The Missions Committee has adopted this theme for the 2008 missions focus on China. Everyone at PVBC can be included at some level as each aspect of our theme is dependent on the other for our missions involvement to be effective. We encourage everyone to get involved in prayer and in giving to the needs of China/Macao, not only for those who will go on teams to work in China, but for the missionary couples already there. We have established a partnership with Larry and Sarah Balew in Macao and Bill and Michelle Cayard in mainland China.

Opportunities for you will include:

  • A prayer team committed to weekly prayer for specific requests from the missionaries.
  • A campaign for PVBC families to commit to a $5 weekly gift to support the baslew’s and the Cayard’s ministries. These funds are to be used to help fund a ministry center in Macao for service people to drop in for classes and fellowship and/or:
  • A team be organized to go to China and work on room renovations and construction of additional dorm and teaching space at the Mian Yang Lay Training Center.
  • A team to go to China to train leaders how to organize a Vacation Bible School.

These are the goals for 2008.

“I personally felt when I was in China, that this country is on the verge of a tremendous outpouring of God’s Spirit resulting in millions coming to know Christ. What a privilege to be a part of what God is doing. I believe the opportunity for PVBC to be involved has opened up as a result of the emphasis on prayer this past year. Revival and renewal are alsway preceded by prayer. May we be found faithful as we respond to this invitation.” Mary Nell McCoy, Chair of Missions Committee
