Darryl, Judy, Tawnya and Trevor
2006 was another busy year for us. We started out the year by joining a newly formed small group from church. We meet 2 or 3 times a month at each other’s homes for dinner, Bible study, prayer and a lot of fellowship. Our groups consists of 11 people, who have really come to together and formed a close knit support group.
In April, we participated in a weekend long disaster relief training program through the Southern Baptist Church. Darryl trained in Chaplaincy and we both trained in the Mass Feeding. Hope we never have to use what we learned!
Also in April, we visited Yosemite Park with Mom, Dad, Sarah and Jon.
In May, we celebrated Great Grandma’s 99th birthday. We had two parties, one for the residents at Beverly Manor and the other for family in Beverly Manor’s “party” room.
In June, we attended Darryl’s cousin Amber’s wedding in Modesto.
The highlight of our year was a two week trip to Germany. We went for the World Cup soccer tournament. Trevor and Tawnya were able to go. We traveled 2000 miles (Darryl driving) and attended four soccer matches in four different cities (Hamburg, Hannover, Kaiserslautern and Nuremberg). We also went to the Isle of Fohr, near the Danish border, where my mom’s grandparents lived before immigrating
to America in 1870, as well as Taylor Barracks near Mannheim, where Darryl was stationed in the Army.

In July, we had our Graham Family Reunion in Bodega Bay. It was good fun and laughs, but my favorite part was Uncle Bob’s testimony about his fight with lung cancer. He’s an inspiration!
In August, we traveled to Oregon twice, for two weddings. Tiffany (Jon’s sister) and Billie’s wedding and my cousin Andy and Laura’s wedding reception. One was at a winery and the other at a farm. The weather was beautiful for both.
In September, we traveled to Modesto to attend the Smith Family Reunion, held at a park this year and then traveled on to Fresno to attend the Oregon Duck vs Fresno State Bulldogs football game. Faythe and Jeff (Jon’s parents) were down from Oregon to attend the game. It was a new experience for me wearing Oregon colors into Fresno State territory. It was my first college football game.
In October, Darryl went to Mexico once again to build houses. Also in October Great Grandma fell and broke her femur. Life hasn’t been the same for any of us. She forgets she has a broken leg and tries to get up, so she has to be tied in the wheelchair. She is not happy! On the bright side, she is doing physical therapy. She may walk again.
In November, Darryl became a Deacon at church. He loves his men’s group on Thursday mornings. He’s also enjoying retirement and I’m enjoying the home cooked meals.
We hope your family has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
