Our year consisted of visits with kids, weddings, reunions and short trips.
I was able to attend three hair shows this year. In January I will have my 5th anniversary at Changes Salon. In March I attended the 30 year reunion of Medusa’s (the salon I was a partner in ). In the pictures of 30 years ago we were all “string beans”. When we left the party Darryl said that there were all “old people” there.
Darryl got to attend a prayer conference at the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church in New York with a few men from church. Now he’s ready to go back to New York City with family. Darryl also went to Mexico in June for fun and fishing with a couple men from church and again in September (for the 7th time) to build houses.
In May, Great Grandma Graham turned 100 years old. We had a huge Graham reunion and party. Extended family came and it was a great time for all.
Also in May we attend our son-in-law Jon’s graduation from the Physical Therapy program at Fresno State University. The first in the family to get a Master’s degree. At our age it’s nice to have a Physical Therapist in the family. In fact, he as already developed a program for me to help with my aching shoulder. The hair-cuts are starting to get to me. After his internship that ended in November, he got a very good position at a PT office in Salem, Oregon. Sarah will continue to work for Weibe and Associates in Fresno, telecommuting from her home in Salem. We went to Fresno to help them move and Darryl made the trip to Oregon with them to help at that end.
We attended four weddings this summer and I’m getting good at on-line gift buying. It’s the way to go. We flew to Oregon for my cousin Windy’s wedding and Sarah’s college roommate and close friend Natalie’s wedding. Down here we attended Sarah’s childhood friend Jill’s wedding and our niece Teri’s wedding.
We attended a USA soccer match against China with family and friends in San Jose. It was fun, but not quite the thrill as going to the World Cup in Germany.
Darryl and I attended my 37th Petaluma High School class reunion in November. It had been 17 years since we had one. Talk about old people!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My Uncle Bill and his wife Susan, and my Aunt Doris were able to be here with us, along with Mom, Dad, Grandma, my brother Don and all our children. On the Saturday following Thanksgiving we had a “family” baby shower for TnT, with most of the Smith family attending.
We are looking forward to Christmas with our entire family. We trust you will have a blessed Christmas as well.
Love,
Darryl and Judy
